The show corrected the inaccuracies of the film and, with Paul McCartney's help, in 1989 it ran for over 12 years in the west End. It was dubbed a juke-box musical since when the West End has been alive with the sound of jukebox musicals. It has been strongly mooted that the success is also due to the public's interest in rock and roll. (not this rock and that rock). Buddy Holly was an early progenitor of rock and roll in it's heart and essence. This is one of those shows that has audiences on their feet. Even dancing in the aisles

Buddy Holly
The story
It's about the 3 years of Buddy's career from his first record through to his move to New York. It details his tour of Midwest America with The Big Bopper and the plane crash that killed him - cutting his certain massive stardom to a short 3 years which nonetheless saw him as the top recording artist in the world and changed pop music.
