Under The Blue Sky was awarded
the Time Out Live Award for Best New Play in the West End. It was
written at the turn of the century this millennium at a time - not a
decade ago when there was a great deal of retrospection and self
examination of relationships that had a vestige of 'free love' (for
women as well as men) left open from the last
century. He has put his characters through their
paces in depicting some situations that arise between men and women in
the process of loving each other - or do they? The company of actors playing this are current stars in their own right both of Television and Theatre. Story A much loved age old story - the differences and similarities between love and lust - or was that the tequila? Three men and three women portray love that is individual to themselves. This is also a play about communication - or as such often miscommunication and misunderstandings so that's something for everyone who goes to watch the play. We are used to being divided from players on the TV - the big brother machine - and even on the cinema screen. A play like this benefits enormously as a live performance. To see such scenes live brings with it a breath of life and reality that lets the audience into the relationships in a powerful way. The cast • Michelle - Catherine Tate • Anne - Francesca Annis • Helen - Lisa Dillon * Nick - Chris O'Dowd • Graham - Dominic Rowan Nigel Lindsay • Author - David Eldridge • Producer - Robert G Bartner • Director - Anna Mackmin • Lighting - Mark Henderson • Sound - Paul Arditti • Design - Lez Brotherston |
